EVA ELIZABETH FLAWS (WASTLE) Peacefully with her family by her side, Eva passed away on February 18, 2005 in the Red River Valley Lodge, Morris, MB. Born November 18, 1914 in Winnipeg. Eva was the first born to William and Elsie Jane (Cuthbertson) Wastle. They moved from Rapid City to Mayfeld, MB and then to Winnipeg. Eva loved the outdoor life of the farm and learned to ride a horse at a very young age. She and Frank celebrated their 72 years of marriage in 2004, they were married in July 1932. They lived in Mayfeld and Muir before moving to Winnipeg in 1949. Eva loved to learn and in her 40s, she received her Secretary Course Certificate and worked for Zimmerman Zimmerman, Barristers and Solicitors for 18 years. In 1966 they moved to the Cuthbertson Homestead in Oak Bluff. Mom was very involved in the community. In her work with the Horticultural Society and the Women's Institute in Oak Bluff, she researched the local history and was a major contributor to Oak Leaves , a history of the Oak Bluff District in the 19th Century. It was in Oak Bluff where she started Lawrilyn Kennels and raised champion German Shepherds. She was very involved in the German Shepherd Dog Club of Manitoba and was a long-term member of the Canadian Kennel Club. Eva is survived by husband Frank and children, Evelyn Gyles (Norman), Bill (Pat) and Larry (Alison); grandchildren, Jennifer Gyles (Jim Wilderman), Geoffrey Gyles (Jennifer), Heather Gyles-Boyce, Norman Gyles (Shelley) and Garry Gyles (Shannon); Candace (Don Purvis), Corinne Halajko, Wendy (Ananh Khouvongsavanh) and Garth Flaws (Meera); Vanessa (Chris Madsen) and Amanda (Ted Endean); brothers, John Wastle (Merle), Brandon, Bill Wastle, Lethbridge, AB; sister Marion Van Damme; and brother Ralph Wastle (Grace) of Winnipeg; as well as 21 great-grandchildren. Many thanks to the Red River Valley Lodge in Morris staff for their wonderful care over the past eight and a half years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Red River Valley Lodge, Box 509, Morris, MB, R0G 1K0 or a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be held at Whyte Ridge Baptist Church, 201 Scurfield Blvd. at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, Pastor Dave Henkelman officiating.   • To the Wastle/Flaws Families: I wish I could be with you on Wednesday But I will be with you in thought and prayer You are all better people today because of Eva In scripture it says we intertain angles unaware. And I feel she is one of those angels. I know I am a better person because of knowing Eva. Please except our deapest sympathy. I beleive she is in Glory with her mother and Dad and my Mom and Dad.
