VERN ALLEN MORTON August 21, 1961- February 19, 2005 It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved Vern after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Vern was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Gertrude Morton. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Connie and children, Jessica (6), Katelyne (4), and Wesley (3); his brothers, Bob (Bonnie), Richard (Sandra), David (Jan), John (Charyl); his sisters, Lynne (Guy), Marion (Alex), Kathy (Greg), and Joy (Terry); and special friend Carol; stepsiblings, Loralee and Shane; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Vern was a master of all trades and was quick to offer his services to friends and family be it fixing a vehicle or doing house renovations. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and spent his younger years at the family cabin on Nutimik Lake. He had already begun to instill this in his children and just recently took them ice fishing. Vern also took pride and pleasure in his job driving truck and being one with the road . But his passion and devotion was Connie and the kids and they were his sole concern after being diagnosed. Although out of touch, You're always in reach, Even though you are gone, You'll continue to teach, We'll remember your face, And we'll say your name, We'll keep loving you daddy, Until we see you again. We miss you. We love you. We will always remember you. We will continue life with your presence alive in our hearts. What we would give to hear that joyous greeting one last time. Hey, you! How's it goin?? and What do you say, What do you know, what's happening?? Services will be held at the St. James United Church, 234 Parkview St. on Wednesday, February 23 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in trust of the children at any Astra Credit Union to: Kathy Morton in trust for J., K., and W. Morton.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Knew each other since grade one, our friendship continued till his passing and still to this day ! He was my best friend, my other brother from another mother, my friend I got in trouble with the most and my friend who was always there to pick me up when I was down . “after he stopped laughing of course“ the honorary godfather to my first born and the best uncle friend to my girls ! They loved him as much as I do ! I miss him terribly and still speak his name , talk about him often and talk to him even more. He is in my dreams lots and certain songs or places make me think of him ! And remember all the fun we had ! I only wish his children could have know the man I knew and what a loyal wonderful human he was and how much of an impact he had on my world ! HELLLO was his greeting , and I wont ever say goodbye just …have one for the road ! We will meet again ! - Posted by: Kathy pace (My bestest friend) on: Feb 01, 2025

  • Vern was a child at heart, our children always had a fun time when Daddy was home. They would break all the rules and throw caution to the wind. The children would always find comfort in laying on Daddy's chest and falling alsleep with him. They would look for treasures in his bellybutton and end up with lint. They enjoyed their nightly backscratches, and the children still do. Honey I will keep our dreams alive and try to fulfill them in your memory. I will miss you and love you forever. Good night until we are together again! - Posted by: Connie Morton (Family) on: Mar 18, 2005

  • We'll miss watching Vern toboganning with Jessica, Katelyn and Wesley down the little hill in the trailer park. (with Chief running nearby). Vern was always so happy-go-lucky, and we enjoyed getting to know him since we moved to the area in 2002. May God give peace and comfort to all those who grieve. You may be gone, but you'll never be forgotten. Until we meet again. - Posted by: The DeMeyer Family (Friend) on: Feb 23, 2005
