WILLIAM OMIUCKE 1938 - 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Omiucke, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, on Saturday, February 19, 2005, in his 66th year. Bill was born and raised in Transcona and lived his entire life in the community. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Elsie (nee Franz); son Darren (Nancy); daughter Jodi (Joe); and grandchildren, Trevor, Cameron, Cassidy, Kayley and Joseph. He is also survived by his sister Lee. He was predeceased by his father, mother; brother Don; and sister Mary. Over the years, Bill was actively involved with the Metro Club, Commerce Club, the Transcona National Football Club, the Variety Club of Canada and other charitable organizations. He was active in politics, having run for the Conservative Party in Transcona in the 1980s and acted as campaign manager during a number of Provincial elections. He will be remembered for his helping hand and kindness to many of those less fortunate than himself. In the latter years, Bill and John McCabe became great friends and business partners, and founded and operated Mid Canada Environmental Services Ltd.
