JOHN (JACK) HENDRY

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN (JACK) HENDRY On Saturday, February 19, 2005, Jack passed away peacefully at the age of 87 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife Evelyn (Toots); brothers, Albert (Dodie), Charles (Buster); sister Lilly and his parents. Jack joined the army in February 1942 and returned home to Kelso, SK where he married Evelyn and farmed for a few years before moving to Winnipeg in 1956. He worked briefly at Killbery Ind. from there he went to work for Trans Canada Pipeline till he retired at the age of 65. Dad was a kind and thoughtful man who always put his family first and will be remembered as a great dad. He also had a love of hockey, especially The Toronto Maple Leafs and our Winnipeg Jets and was a season ticket holder till the end. Jack will be lovingly remembered by son Jack Jr. (Eileen); grandchildren, Todd (Terri), April (Rick), David (Aileen); great-grandchildren, Warren, Mitchell, Stevie, Jordan and Brandyn; brother Jimmy; sisters, Violet (Toots), Beatrice, Isabelle; and all his nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his many many friends and neighbours who thought the world of him. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 25 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with viewing half hour prior to service and reception to follow. Pallbearers will be David Manton, Bruce Morrish, Brent Morrish, Jason Watt, Alex Johnston and Dan Burton. Honorary pallbearers will be Harry, Morrish, Alan Watt, Harvey Fyke, Glen Smith, Jerry Mazer, Barry Heibert, Ed Langevin, Brad Campbell and Scott Weatherald. Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the emergency staff and the fifth floor nurses and doctors at the Grace Hospital. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
