She was born on August 13, 1905 and grew up in Morden and Manitou, MB. After she married in 1928, she and her husband lived in Calgary for ten years. In the summer of 1939, Tillie and her husband, Gustav went to Germany to visit his ailing father. Due to the outbreak of war, they were unable to get back to Canada. Part of the time they were in jail and in an interment camp. They finally got back to Canada in 1948 with the efforts of Hon. Stanley Knowles. Since then they made their home in Winnipeg. Tillie attended Bethesda Church, Portage Avenue Baptist, and for the last 24 years, Elim Chapel where she made many friends. Tillie was predeceased by her husband Gustav; her parents, Adolf and Ottilie Neuman, Manitou; brother Raymond, St. Norbert; sisters, Audry, Helene and Velma; and Stephen Neuman, Kingston. Tillie is survived by sister Ida Birse; brothers, Norman (Muriel) Neuman and Dr. Harold (Jody) Neuman, Kingston, ON; nephews, Roger, Dr. Murray, Michael, Eric Neuman; nieces, Joanne Ball and Josephine Neuman; great-nieces, Katherine Taylor, Jamie Rodrigues, Zoe Neuman; great-nephew Christopher Neuman; two great-great-nephews and one great-great-niece, Curtis and Abigail Rodrigues and Nathan Taylor. After a private burial service at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Elim Chapel, 546 Portage Ave. with reception to follow. We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to Ida and all of Tillie's family. Tillie was a wonderful person; we corresponded over the last 10 years or so and I greatly enjoyed our visits whenever we were in Winnipeg. God Bless you all - Posted by: Leon and Ethel (Neuman) Mankow (Family) on: Feb 22, 2005

Tilly, I really loved you a lot. God was so good to let me meet you at Portage Ave Baptist Church. You certainly were the spark of life, and I thought and prayed for you often. Love, Lydia Dyck. - Posted by: Lydia Dyck (Friend) on: Feb 22, 2005
