Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNEST J. IRWIN October 9, 1919 - February 20, 2005 Ernie passed away peacefully at the age of 85, after a long struggle with cancer. Born in Bagot, MB he attended Image Hill School. Ernie was predeceased by his father Isaac Newton and mother Louise; brother Raymond (Ray); sisters-in-law Nadia and Margaret; great-grandson Cailim. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Evelyn (Lyn); daughters Kyra (Hugh) Brown, Terry Thompson; son Kelly; grandchildren Scott (Michelle), Neil, Lisa; great-grandchildren Andrew and Brendin; brothers Ray, Gordon; sisters Pearl, Ruby, Opal; sister-in-law Shirley and many nieces and nephews. While serving in the Canadian Armed Forces in England Ernie met and married his wife Lyn. He was a Past Master of Kilcona Masonic Lodge #183 and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #90. Ernie enjoyed many years of retirement as a winter Texan playing golf, cribbage, horseshoes and painting and gardening. Thank you for Ernie's care and support to the medical staff at HSC and CancerCare and especially Drs. Vanameyde and Maksymiuk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ernie to the Manitoba Cancer Fndn. or a charity of your choice. A Masonic service will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 4000 Portage Ave.
