Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORRAINE MARCELLE DI GENOVA (nee HOFLEY) 1930 - 2005 Peacefully at home, Lorraine passed away on February 19, 2005, with her family by her side. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her husband, Romeo of 54 years; daughters, Linda (Russell) Munt, Maureen (Ron) Atkinson; grandchildren, Kristen and Ryan Munt; relatives and countless friends. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Leocadie and Roy Hofley; sister Elsie; and brothers, Roy and Bernard. Lorraine was born and raised in Winnipeg on May 11, 1930 and attended Ralph Brown, Luxton and St. John's Tech. She was employed with CP Express, Traders TransCanada Finance, and Great-West Life, and retired in 1957 so that they could raise their family. Lorraine enjoyed many years of square and round dancing, as well as pattern and line dancing. Her pastimes also included sewing, knitting and crocheting. Family meant everything to Lorraine and she was a devoted wife, mother and nana. She dearly loved her grandchildren and was very proud of their achievements. Lorraine was very fortunate to enjoy many wonderful friendships in her life, which she deeply cherished. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Lori, Paula, Dr. W. Dabrowska and the entire staff of CancerCare, as well as Dr. J. Francois and the staff of Palliative Care. A funeral service and celebration of Lorraine's life will be held on Thursday, February 24 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Blahuta, Sam Vertone, Walter Hobson, Maurice Ingram, Ralph Robbins, and Bert Maunders. Flowers gratefully declined, donations can be made in Lorraine's memory to a charity of one's choice. Mom was a very special lady who will always be remembered for her positive outlook, her grateful attitude and her loving ways.
