ROBERT SHEA SHOON PANG Peacefully on Friday, February 18, 2005, Robert Pang passed away at his residence. Robert is survived by his son Lionel (Pam) and their children, Cade, Reid, Sage and Kia; daughter Diane Yu (Raymond) and their son Nathaniel; daughter Alice Pang Darchuk (Bradley) and their son Brandt; and second wife Mei King Lui Pang. He was predeceased by his wife Judy Pang; son Barry Pang; mother Yip Yuk Lang Pang; and father James Pang. Our dad came to Canada in the early 50s and married our mom Judy in 1958. Together they were blessed with four children (Barry, Lionel, Diane and Alice). He dedicated his life to provide the very best for his family and made sure we had the opportunities which he never had a chance to experience. Our dad was very proud of all our accomplishments. As well, our dad took great pride and joy in all his grandchildren (Cade, Reid, Sage, Kia, Nathaniel and Brandt). He excitedly anticipated the birth of each grandchild and looked forward to showering each with love and gifts on their birthdays. Having hard work ethics, he excelled in the restaurant business. Eventually earning the title Head Chef , he was well respected and known throughout the Chinese community. He loved to cook. In 1985 our dad and son-in-law opened the Shaing-Bo restaurant (named by our mom, meaning treasury). The Shaing-Bo brought the family closer together as it was a family venture. Our dad always expected us to be there. The Shaing-Bo brought many loyal customers who became special friends to our family. After the passing of our mom, he remarried Mei. For several years he was able to fulfil his love of travelling including many trips to his homeland in the Orient. Our dad courageously battled cancer for the past several years. His pillar of support was his family. Our dad passed away at home surrounded by the love and care of his family. Forever missed and always loved. XOXO Thank you to all our friends for their love and support through this difficult time. Special thanks to Dr. A. Maksymiuk, Dr. A. W. Alvi, Marianne, Willy, Bill and Rosalie McGowan and the two Beverlys; pallbearers Angelo Zamparutti, Peter Cindric, Bob Kanowicz, Marcel Sabourin, Dave Kornachuk and Brad Darchuk. A private funeral was held on behalf of our dad's wishes. Donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
