JOHN A. SKWAREK of Extendicare, Port Stanley and formerly of Winnipeg, on Monday, February 21, 2005 at his late residence, in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Nellie Skwarek and dear step-father of George Ashby and Eleanor Station; dear brother of Rose Gzebowski and Fred Taylor; dear grandfather of Heather and Brent Ashby, Darcy Comandante and Kelly Ireland. Sadly missed by seven great-grandchildren. John was born November 19, 1909 in Kozlow, Tarnopol, Poland, the son of the late Michael and Catharina (Falinska) Skwarek. John was a retired cabinet maker and has lived in St. Thomas, ON the past six years. He was of the Roman Catholic Faith. He is a life member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Local 343, Winnipeg. A private family funeral service was held at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas. Private interment in All Saints in Riverside, Winnipeg. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
