Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMIKE DEREWIANKO Peacefully, on Friday, February 18, 2005, at Seven Oaks Hospital, Mike Derewianko passed away at the age of 78 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife Bertha of 53 years; daughter Lynn-Joy (Ken) Batenchuk and granddaughter Maryet; son Michael (Michelle) of Grand Prairie, AB, and grandchildren, Christopher of Toronto, ON, and Natalie of Calgary, AB. He is also survived by his sister Mary (Charles) Banack; sisters-in-law, Mary Derewianko of Kenora, ON, and Rita Derwin and their families, as well as his late brother John's family. Mike was predeceased by his parents Daria and William; brothers, Paul, Peter, Alex, John; sister-in-law Elizabeth Derwin; parents-in-law Stephen and Sophie Baron; sister-in-law Mary Choptiany; brothers-in-law, Joe Baron, Mike Baron and Sam Choptiany. Mike was born August 28, 1926, educated and lived his entire life in the North End. He worked for Sullivan Strong Scott for 42 years. He also owned and operated the McGregor Hotel in McGregor, MB, from 1961 to 1966 with his brother-in-law Joe Baron. He was a member of the Capital Lodge No. 136 A.F. A.M. Mike enjoyed the many trips taken each year in the motor home over the last 26 years. A Masonic service will be held 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 25 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 26, also at the chapel, with a Basilian Father officiating. A private family interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Seven Oaks Hospital, ICU for the wonderful care of Mike. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
