JANET KATHERINE VOSS The family of Janet Katherine Voss wish to announce the death of their much loved sister and aunt on February 21, 2005 at the Tuxedo Villa. Janet was born on November 24, 1906 in Togo, SK. She lived in Dauphin and Treherne until she moved to Winnipeg in 1926. After her graduation from Dauphin Business College she worked as a stenographer and secretary. In 1929 she began her long association with Westeel-Rosco, where she worked for 44 years until her retirement in 1973 at the age of 67. She was a highly valued member of the firm who was respected for her extensive knowledge of the history of the company and its personnel. Janet was involved in a number of activities during her life. She was a longtime member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a founding member of Westworth United Church, and after her retirement worked as a volunteer for the Cystic Fibrosis Society for many years. She was an avid reader who loved poetry and enjoyed keeping up with current affairs. Janet made her home with the Ticehurst family, and lived with her sister, Jean, until she moved to Tuxedo Villa. To Barbara and Katherine and their families and friends she was simply Auntie . Janet was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Frederick Voss; her sister Flora Collins; her brothers, James, Frederick and Donald; and her brothers-in-law, Donald Ticehurst and Fred Collins. Her devoted sister Jean Ticehurst; her sisters-in-law, Nan, Cora and Lillian; and three generations of nieces and nephews remember her with great affection. A service of remembrance will be held at Westworth United Church (Grosvenor at Lanark) on Friday, February 25 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Clark Saunders will officiate. If friends so desire, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
