Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory(ROBERT) FREDERICK VOGEL (HOMER) Peacefully on February 21, 2005, Robert Vogel passed away at the age of 60 years, at the Health Sciences Centre. He was predeceased by his foster mother Bernice Pannenbecker and foster brothers, George and Robert Pannenbecker. He is survived by his wife of 11 and a half years, Shirley Vogel; his three children and their families, Robert J. Vogel (wife Tracy, and children, Tierra, B.J., Thomas, Richard), Carrie-Lynn Vogel (children, Zachary, Kelvin), Brian W. Vogel (son Devone). Robert is also survived by his stepchildren, and families, who he loved and held close to his heart, Timothy Paul, Cheryl Auger, Brenda Main, Wendy Wilson, Shirley Paul, Michele Votour, and grandchildren. He is also survived by his ex-wife Dorothy Greenlaw (Funk). Robert was born in Brooks, AB on July 11, 1944 and raised in Calgary by his loving foster mother (Bernice Pannenbecker), He lived in Alberta for 35 years, where he worked as a cab driver, milkman, farm hand and a butcher. In the summer of 1980, Robert moved his family to Winnipeg where he started work and retired last year as a butcher at Maple Leaf Meats, (formally Burns Meats Ltd.) for 25 years. 11 and a half years ago son Robert and stepdaughter Michele, introduced Robert and Shirley to each other, where they joined as a couple at a family function, and have been together since. Robert was a warm, and loving soul, who had many precious moments and treasure memories, from the numerous summers of camping and fishing with his wife Shirley, working on the car with his son Robert, to the family get together where he sang and played guitar, with stepson Timothy. Including the silly little arguments with his stepdaughters and the long talks with his daughter and son Carrie-Lynn and Brian. Robert was loved by all of us, friends and family members and his wit-full antics and sense of humour that brought us rays of joy everyday will be greatly missed. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel. 1442 Main St. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers. Grandpa Homer You were sneaky, always in a hurry, You were pokey and funny, Always outside when it was sunny. You made us laugh, You made us cry, Now we have to say, Goodbye. Happy birthday Opa. I wish you were here, I’m getting married to the love of my life, I’m accomplishing stuff I never thought I could, I know you’re here. Just not physically, and I just wish I could have one of your hugs. I love you. - Posted by: Tierra-Lynn Vogel (Grand Daughter) on: Jul 11, 2023
