Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTONIO (TONY) CAETANO DACOSTA 1933 - 2005 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather on February 21, 2005. Antonio was born on August 7, 1933 to Anthony Vincent and Escolastica DaCosta in Parra, Goa, India. After completing school he took a position as an accountant, which took him to Kampala, Uganda, Africa for a number of years. He came to Winnipeg, Canada and worked as a welder for 25 years at Versatile (Ford New Holland) where he eventually retired with the respect of his peers. He spent his free time coaching soccer in which he led his sons' team to a championship, which was a great passion of his growing up in Goa. Dad was devoted to the community in which he was a good neighbour, always willing to lend a helping hand. He also volunteered at the local hospital wheeling patients to Catholic Mass. His faith was important to him, being a longstanding parishioner at Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church. Antonio is survived by his loving wife Maria Asteria; sons, Roger (Jada) and Clayton; daughter Melissa; and new grandson Cyrus; brother Louis (Gladys) and their children; sisters, Julie and Maggie; and many relatives in India. Prayers will be said on Friday, February 25 at 10:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church, 254 Arnold Ave., with Rev. Fr. Henryk Laciak as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Antonio's memory to Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
