ELLEN MAY REID Ellen May Reid passed away peacefully on Monday, February 21, 2005 at the Red River Valley Lodge in Morris. She was born February 7, 1907 in Clinton, WI, the youngest of four children. The family arrived in Manitoba in 1914 where they homesteaded along the Red River Valley. She married Keith Reid in 1932 and resided in the Silver Plains district until retiring to Morris in 1969. Ellen was active in the Womens Institute, Silver Plains Ladies group, and the Morris United Church. Ellen is survived by two children, Velma Bercier of Duncan, BC, and David (Evelyne) Reid of Notre Dame de Lourdes; seven grandchildren, Jeannie (Raymond) Phillips of Roland, Suzanne (Dean) McKillop of Guelph, ON, Mitch (Shelley) Reid of Brandon, Jason (Karmen) Reid of Morris, Karen (Bernie) Tillaart of Kingston, ON, Keith (Linda) Bercier of Duncan, BC, and Mary Ellen Bercier of Victoria, BC. She was predeceased by her husband Keith; brothers, Harold and Edwin Stoney; sister Grace Mitchell; and daughter-in-law Fay Reid. A celebration of Ellen's life will be held at the Morris United Church on Saturday, February 26 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in the Morris Cemetery, with a reception to follow.
