LYNN HAMELIN (nee CAMPBELL) After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Lynn passed away peacefully on February 22, 2005. She was surrounded by her loving family and close friends. Lynn was predeceased by her father, Dr. Gordon Campbell and brother Donald. She will be sadly and forever missed by her mother Mildred Campbell; husband of 37 years Roger; daughters, Kimberley and Karla. Lynn was born in Winnipeg on July 21, 1943 and was raised in River Heights, where she attended Kelvin High School and the United Business College. Upon graduating she was first employed with the Toronto Dominion Bank and then later with Royal Trust. Since 1952, Lynn's summer holidays and retirement years were spent with family and friends at her beautiful cottage at Falcon Lake, where she enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors, reading and entertaining. Lynn had a unique talent for preparing that special meal which made any occasion memorable. She had a lifelong love of animals, especially her beagles. Our wife and mother found great joy in travelling and her family will always cherish the wonderful memories they have of the many trips taken. Lynn was a most devoted wife and mother. Her marriage embraced an enduring love and friendship with her husband Roger. Kimberley and Karla were raised with unconditional love and support, as she always took great pride in their endeavours and accomplishments. Lynn was an active member of St. Vital Parish for 37 years. During this time she was a Sunday School teacher and up until this fall, volunteered many hours as a lay reader. Over the past four and a half years, she and her family will be forever grateful for the compassion, support and encouragement that was given by everyone who loved her. The Hamelin family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her doctors, Dr. Steven Latosinsky, Dr. Ralph Wong, and the staff at CancerCare Manitoba; as well as the staff at Health Sciences Centre GH5 for their compassionate care at a most difficult time. A very special thanks to her nurse, Jamie Penner. The family would also like to thank the staff and doctors at Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care East Wing. As per Lynn's wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 28, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Vital Parish, 1629 Pembina Hwy., with Fr. P.A. Morand officiating, with interment to be followed at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Lynn to CancerCare Manitoba. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J.
