Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES BENNETT January 4, 1923 - February 13, 2005 Charles Bennett passed away at the Calgary Foothills Hospital on February 13, 2005, at the age of 82 years. Charles is survived by one niece in Calgary and numerous other nieces and nephews in Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his wife Elsie in 1995; as well as his parents, James and Mary (Donald) Bennett; and 13 brothers and sister, all of whom had resided in Winnipeg and area. Charles was born in Winnipeg, MB. He served as a paratrooper in the Second World War with the First Special Services Force (Devils Brigade). Later, Charles and his wife Elsie (Schierman) settled in Calgary. He was retired from the Calgary School Board and was a member of the Legion. Charles will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and his friends. Special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff of Unit 36 at the Foothills Hospital; to the Colonel Belcher Foot and Wound Clinic for the wonderful care they provided; and to the nurses and aides at the Bethany Care Centre. Graveside services will be held at Union Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Calgary Humane Society, 1323 - 36 Ave. NE, Calgary, AB T2E 6T6.
