OLGA MAY BORLAND Peacefully on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 Olga Borland passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital, leaving behind her family and many friends to be thankful for her life. Olga was born on February 9, 1917 in Minnedosa, MB to Harry and Charlotte McAdam. She was an active child enjoying many sports, which led to her meeting her husband-to-be, Lloyd Borland, during her high school years at the North School . Olga and Lloyd were married in 1940, and Judy and Rick were soon on the scene. After both children started in school, Olga took employment with the Census Bureau and subsequently as a secretary in Winnipeg School Division #1 at Lord Selkirk, Robert H. Smith, River Heights, and Gordon Bell Schools. Mom spent many enjoyable years with her friends on the tennis courts of the Wildewood Club in Fort Garry. In later years she spent many hours with her family enjoying the beauties of Winnipeg. Olga was predeceased by her loving husband Lloyd, and is survived by her daughter Judy Peake (Ron) and grandsons, Bryan and Riley (Aimee); as well as her son Rick (Heather) and grandsons, Jonathan (fiancee Lisa) and Trevor. She is also survived by her sisters, Muriel Gibson (Bill) of Vancouver, Dorothy Blake of Williams Lake, and her brothers, Ray McAdam of Ottawa and Don McAdam (Margaret) of Winnipeg; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Kevin Coates for his compassionate care of our mom, the wonderful caring staff at St. Boniface Hospital, and all of her friends at the Waverley for their kind thoughts. At mom's request, no funeral service will be held. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association at 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6. We will always love you mom. Thank you for all the good times. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel Crematorium in care of arrangements. 897-4665.
