CAROL LOUISE SNIDERHAN (nee WHITE) December 5, 1941 - February 20, 2005 (Grandma Carol) Peacefully after a lengthy illness, our beloved wife, sister and dear friend, Carol, passed away at the St. Boniface General Hospital on Sunday, February 20, 2005, at the age of 63 years. Carol will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Bill, of 34 years of marriage; sisters, Pat Munroe (Brad) of Shad Bay, NS, Marilyn White of Enfield, NS and Cindy Mosher (Jackie) of Musquodobit, NS; her brother John Jack White (Betty) of Chezzetcook, NS; very special friends, Pauline and Don Gregoire, their daughters, Chantal and Natalie and their son Derrick; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her father Joseph Howard White; mother Mary Geraldine (Power) White; and sisters, Joan Holland and Jeanne White. On December 5, 1941, Carol was born to Howard and Geraldine White in Goodwood, NS and while growing up, she worked at her parent's grocery store in White Lake, NS. She married the love of her life and soul mate, Bill, on August 1, 1970 in Halifax, NS. Carol then set out on a journey with her husband Bill, who was in the Canadian Armed Forces, to various bases and stations throughout Canada; Greenwood, NS, Lac St. Denis, QC, Cornwallis, NS, Chilliwack, BC, Portage La Prairie, MB and Winnipeg, MB. Every place she went, she had many friends and coworkers. Carol and Bill have lived in Winnipeg since August, 1991 and remained here until her passing. As Carol saw it, she was blessed with an abundance of good friends. She always watched her favourite TV shows, played her bingo game every Saturday evening and looked forward to her casino trips to the Shooting Star Casino and Thief River Falls Casino. She had a great love of animals and her last cat Tom was a constant companion. Grandma Carol's struggle the last seven months to stay with us was an incredible journey of many peaks and valleys with times of much joy when her progress seemed to be going well and started to improve. However, this was followed by much sadness, when health issues proved too much to overcome and Carol's struggle was over. A big part of our lives is gone, we will surely miss you. In compliance with Carol's wishes, a family funeral service will be held in Shad Bay, NS at a later date. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and pastoral care staff on the palliative care unit, 8th floor of the St. Boniface General Hospital for their professional care and compassion given to Carol at this difficult time. A very special thank you to Pauline and Don Gregoire and their children, Chantal, Natalie and Derrick for their unselfish devotion and help given to Carol and her husband in their time of need, especially during the past seven months when Grandma Carol became ill and was hospitalized for weeks at a time. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Carol's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Our hearts are broken and a big part of our lives is gone. We will all miss your beautiful smile, your humour, kind words and your love for all of us. These are the gifts we will always treasure. You were always there when we needed you. No task was ever too great or small. Thanks for the years you gave us and for the times we shared. We only pray when you left us, you knew how much we cared. Rest now in God's loving arms. We love you, Carol. WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
