HANS-DIETER BIRK
Born: Oct 09, 1941
Date of Passing: Feb 24, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHANS-DIETER BIRK Peacefully on Thursday, February 24, 2005, with his family at his side and after a lengthy illness, Hans-Dieter passed away at the age of 63 years. Hans is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; sons Chris (Kristin) and Mark; brother Claus (Rosemarie); sisters Christel (Manfred), Ulrike (Klaus) as well as many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Hans-Dieter was predeceased by his father, mother, brother Wolfgang and nephew Kurt. Hans was born October 9, 1941 in Wuppertal, Germany and was the first born to Hans and Elfriede Birk. He arrived in Canada on April 27, 1967, where he began working as a labourer on a grain farm in Little Britain. He soon found that his passion would be for painting and wallpapering and worked until such a time when illness would take over his ability to carry on. Papa enjoyed his many fishing trips, along with weekends at the cabin and soccer. Painting birdhouses and wooden sleighs became very precious to him later on in life. With our appreciation and gratitude to the Holy Family Nursing Home who enhanced Papa's quality of life during his stay. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Mountain and Andrews with Rev. Fr. Diosdado Parrenas as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hans-Dieter's memory to the Holy Family Nursing Home, 165 Aberdeen Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2W 1T9. You will be in our hearts always, We love you Papa.
