MARGARET ROSE TRENTER (nee SMITH), aged 56, passed away with her family at her side on Thursday, February 24, 2005. She will be lovingly remembered by her kids, Tracey (Kevin) Burton, Lee (Patti) Trenter, Stacey (Bevan) Loe and their dad, Rick Trenter; grandkids, Brandan and Breanne Burton, Kristjan and Hanna Trenter, Meagan and Daulton Loe; fiancee Michael Syrnyk; and her siblings, Jimmy Smith, June (Bill) Brown and Tommy Smith. She was predeceased by her parents, Wesley Smith and Blodwen (Penny) Marcinkow; and her brother Jerry Smith. Margaret was born in Portage la Prairie, MB, on August 10, 1948. She worked at Westfair Foods for 15 years as a meat buyer, Salvation Army (Red Shield Appeal) for five years, Sobeys as an office administrator for four years and ended her career at GHY International Custom Brokers. Margaret was fun-loving and enjoyed life to its fullest. She was always excited to spend time with her children and grandchildren, as well as numerous close friends. Margaret was a very active member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Fort Garry Legion Branch No. 90. Margaret loved to bake and knit for family and friends. She had an active life, working full time and raising three children. She was strong willed, out going, loved to dance, take long walks and always loved to meet new people. Margaret's favourite collectable was Angels, and she has now joined them to watch over all of us. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at ICU Grace and St. Boniface Hospitals for their care and compassion. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 1 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at the Fort Garry Legion Branch No. 90, 1125 Pembina Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, Box 88, Stn. Main, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2G1.
