DOROTHY LOIS JAMES (nee SMITH) September 18, 1922 - February 24, 2005 Peacefully in her sleep, Dorothy Lois James, age 82 years, passed away at Deer Lodge Centre. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her children, Alex (Jocelyn), Lori (Ron) Siemens, Scott (Karen), Bruce, and Sandie (Mark) Van Helvert; grandchildren Shannon, Tanji, Tamara, Sean, Stevan, Ryan, Jordan, Jessica, Tyler, Matthew and Michael; great-grandchildren, Dalton and Ireland; brothers, Dennis (Helen) and Louis (Gloria); sister Georgina (Russ) Amy; special sister-in-law Shirley and daughter-in-law Randi; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband George in 1970. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Dorothy met George during the Second World War and moved to Scotland in 1945 where George played professional soccer and they began their family. Returning to Canada in 1951, she was employed at CKND, the Children's Hospital and retired from Cowin Steel in 1987. Mom was an avid knitter and reader. She was very involved in Highland Dancing, I.O.D.E., the 39'ers at Holy Redeemer and the Craft Group at Deer Lodge. Her loving nature and good sense of humour will be sadly missed, especially by those who received on of her knitted sweaters. Special thanks to the staff of 4W at Deer Lodge for their excellent care and support. Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 264 Donwood Drive.
