JOHN CHMIEL 1919 -2005 Peacefully on Friday, February 25, 2005 at Seven Oaks General Hospital, John Chmiel passed away at the age of 85 years. He was predeceased by his wife Anna and infant son Jerry. John will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Helen Bialowas and Christine Bender; grandchildren, Tracy (Lance) Huscroft, Rick and Michael Bialowas and Ryan Bender; two great-grandchildren, Daniel and Laura Huscroft. John was born in Lublin, Poland on May 1, 1919 and came to Canada in 1952. He worked at numerous construction jobs and he eventually retired from the University of Manitoba maintenance department. John worked hard throughout his whole life and his passion and love was his family. John enjoyed fixing things around his home and helping his children. His most pleasurable times were with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed socializing with his many friends. Viewing will take place on Wednesday, March 2, at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. both at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
