BRUCE RINTOUL It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bruce at the age of 72 years. Bruce will be missed by his loving wife Lorraine (nee Fox); daughter Debbie (Robert); two sons, Bryan (Keri), Dale (Donna); and five grandchildren, Dustin, Tyler, Pamela, Hillary and Dylan. His large family included 12 brothers and sisters. He was predeceased by his father Jack, mother Lorna, brother Glen, brother-in-law Cal, sister-in-law Barbara. He is survived by Lorne (Colleen), Phyllis (Ernie), Tom (Allison), Maxine (Helmut), Wayne (Betty), Dan (Louise), Melvin (Edna), Eldon (Georgina), Vivian (Harley), Ken (Pat), sister-in-law Pat and many nieces and nephews. Bruce was born and raised in the Portage la Prairie area, where he learned the importance of strong family commitments, which he carried through his life. He was married on October 1, 1957 to Lorraine Mae Fox in MacGregor, MB. Shortly after they moved to Winnipeg, he began driving trucks for Atomic Transfer where he was a valued employee for over 37 years. Bruce liked nothing better than working in his garage playing Mr. Fix-it or working on his many wood working projects. He also very much enjoyed camping, travelling and especially the many dances they attended all around the area. Bruce will be remembered and loved by the many people he touched for his sense of humour, practicality and strength of spirit. A heartfelt thanks to family members, great friends and neighbours who were always there. Thanks to Dr. Harris, the Grace Hospital Cancer Clinic and staff, the Home Care staff and the Palliative Care staff at the St. Boniface Hospital. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 3 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, please donate to CancerCare Manitoba or the Manitoba Lung Association. Miss me but let me go When I come to the end of the road, And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room, Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long, And not with your head bowed low, Remember the love that we once shared, Miss me - but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take, And each must go alone, It's all a part of the Master's plan, A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart Go to the friends we know; And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds Miss me - but let me go.
