JAMES DIDUKE It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of our dearly beloved husband, father, Gee Gee and Great Gee Gee on Sunday, February 27, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 79 years. Beside his loving wife of 59 years, Anne; James is survived by one daughter Linda (Joe) Kaskow; and one son John (Karen); four grandchildren, Kerianne (Norm), Robyn (Shawn), Joshua (fiancee Jackie) and Drew; two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Hannah. He also leaves to mourn, his brother Tom (Olga) and sister Nina (Al) Driver and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. James was predeceased by his parents, Dan and Josie; brother Albert; and sister-in-law Adeline. Jimmy was born in Hamtramck, MI and as a child moved to Winnipeg, where he spent the rest of his life. He spent time in the army as a gunner. When he came home he started with MacDonald Aircraft as a welder. He then went to work for the CNR as a fireman being later promoted to a locomotive engineer, retiring with Via Rail after a 41 year career. Upon retiring Jimmy and Anne spent the cold winters in Mesa, AZ, where he pursued his love of golf and pool games and socializing with his friends and neighbours. He loved his hobby of woodworking, making butterflies and wishing wells. Jimmy was a wonderful husband, father and thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all his heart. They were his pride and joy. The family would like to thank the paramedics of Mesa and staff at St. Joseph's Medical Centre of Phoenix, and the staff of GB3, Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg.
