LILLIAN ELVERA HANSSEN passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 27, 2005 at the Grace Hospital, Winnipeg. Lillian, the daughter of Iver and Sigrid Timrose was born October 10, 1913 on a farm near Inwood. She attended school in the Inwood area. Lillian met her husband Henning Hanssen in 1938 at Windigo Mines, ON. They were married September 10, 1941 and lived at Windigo Mines and Werner Lake until 1944. Shortly after moving to Inwood in 1944, their only child Kenneth was born. The family purchased a farm Southwest of Inwood in 1946. Henning passed away June 25, 1969. After selling the farm in 1976, Lillian moved to Winnipeg. Lillian is survived by her son Kenneth and his wife Elizabeth, grandson Mark and his girlfriend Cathryn Tatsumi, grandson Corey and his wife Keiko, granddaughter Kendra and her husband Richard Pauls, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many, many dear close friends. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Cheryl O'Neale for her many years of friendship and care and especially her support and assistance over the last six months. They also wish to thank home care workers who made it possible for Lillian to remain living in her own home. Thanks as well to Dr. G. R. Maharaj and Mona of the Crestview Medical Centre for the excellent medical care and for the kindness they have shown Lillian the last 30 years. Lillian was loved by all who met her for her generous nature, outgoing personality and positive attitude. She lived a long, full and happy life. May God bless her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Inwood, MB. Pastor Claire Speary will officiate. Interment will be held in the Inwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gethsemane Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Inwood, MB or a charity of one's choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
