EINBJORG (EDNA) HJORLEIFSON Peacefully on Friday, February 25, 2005 at the Betel Home, Gimli, MB. Edna passed away, our beloved mother, Amma and Lang Amma, at the age of 88 years, beloved wife of the late Wilfred Hjorleifson. Edna was born on October 11, 1916 and married Wilfred on June 8, 1938. She lived in Riverton until she moved to Betel. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Villi, infant daughter, son Byron in 1954 and son-in-law Lionel Moreau, great-granddaughter Brittany Dow, as well as four brothers and one sister. Left to cherish her memory are Alice and Eddi Johnson of Winnipeg; Richard and Fay Hjorleifson of Arborg; Johanna and Leo Gudmundson of Arborg; Lillian Snifeld of Winnipeg; Betty Ann Moreau of Winnipeg; Winnifred and Stewart Dow of Winnipeg; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister Johanna Hjordeifson; and one brother Pall (Paul) Thordarson of Gimli; sisters-in-law Palina St. Germain of Winnipeg, Amelia Thordarson of Gimli, Edith Thordarson of Gimli; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was a loving wife and mother. She loved to entertain family and friends including playing cards. She will always be remembered for her creative sewing, crocheting and doll making. Her bedspreads, afghans and dolls will be cherished by all who received one. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the Riverton Community Hall. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dale Gudmundson, Kenneth Snifeld, Gordon Snifeld, Richie Hjorleifson, Ed Johnson and Shawn Moreau. Honorary pallbearers are her remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Betel Home in Gimli for the wonderful care they gave to Mom. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
