Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES (CHARLIE) FERRIER died peacefully at Dover House in Nanaimo, BC on February 25, 2005 with Evelyn, his dearly beloved wife of 61 years by his side. Charles was born in Winnipeg in 1917 and had a full and interesting life. Charles served his country as a member of the RCAF in the Second World War. Charles served as mayor of the Rural Municipality of Old Kildonan for many years and was a driving force behind the Seven Oaks General Hospital of Winnipeg. Charles was a competitive cyclist and oarsman. A man of many talents. He was an inspiration to his family and to all who knew him. Charles is survived by his wife Evelyn; six children, Edwina (Ken) Schwindt, Kathleen (Jim) Keele, Joan (Denis) Roch, Rita (Dave) Arbuthnot, Ruth Ferrier and Scott (Shannon) Ferrier; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Rachel; his brother Edwin; and his grandson Shane Keele. Private remembrance only.
