AUDREY ISOLA FINNBOGASON It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Audrey, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at the Gimli Community Health Centre at the age of 71 years. Mom was surrounded in love, with her family by her side. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Fred (Jenn); grandchildren, Jonah, Meghan (Dave) and great-granddaughter Lucinda, Jeannine, and Shania; Diane (Rick), grandchildren, Darrell (Kristen), Janeen (Jamie), Jesse, Karl and Jamie; Brenda Favell (Jay), grandchildren, Josh and great-granddaughter Keashia, Jordan, Tia and Jerri; Rick (Roberta), grandchildren, Miranda (Johann) and great-granddaughter Sydney, Sherry (Merle) and great-grandchildren, Trista and Ashton, Richard, and Isola, Leanna and her son Anthony; Les (Yolanda), and granddaughter Amber; Shirley Paulson (Bruce), grandsons, Tallon and Brandon. Kelvin (Brenda) grandchildren, Brittany, Blaine, Brandy. Debbie Zagozewski (Robert) grandsons, Zachary, Marshall and Ethan. Gibby (Dawn), grandchildren, Brooke, Braeden and Lenny. Also left to mourn are her sisters, Betty McCorrister, Alice Hudson (Benard), Rita Prince; brothers, Les Daniels (Geraldine), Dennis Daniels (Linda), Carl Asham (Olive), Harold Slater (Mariam); sisters-in-law, Gunrose Bilan (Joe), Lillian Barnard, Pearl Wolld, Sophie Tanguay (Ed); many nieces and nephews who loved her and special family pet Tigger. Audrey was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Fred; mother Florence Daniels and father Albert Slater; grandson Taylor; mother and father-in-law, Andrew and Runnveiga; sister Nancy Harper; brother Sonny Slater; son-in-law Danny Hyrorchuck; sister-in-law Jonina Dick (John); brothers-in-law, Baldur, Ebby, Simbi (Marie), Finnbogi (Gudrun) Finnbogason, Tommy McCorrister, George Prince, Bill Barnard, Mike Wolld; nephews, Bradley and Warren Hudson, Barry Finnbogason; and niece Gladys Chudd. Audrey was born in Peguis, MB on January 25, 1934. She met Dad at Berens River and married August 28, 1952. They started their family in Geysir and later moved to Glen Bay and settled in Arnes. Mom enjoyed being involved in the Arnes Ladies Aid and after raising her family later enjoyed working outside of home. Mom's many hobbies included baking, crocheting, puzzles, visiting with her grandchildren. Mom always enjoyed family home for holidays and special occasions as birthdays and anniversaries where she would cook an amazing meal for everyone. Mom worked at Northernaire Golf Course for many years and made many friends there. Mom was famous for her amazing cooking and baking, and we all learnt a trick or two from her! A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gimli Lutheran Church with Mona Johnson officiating, coffee to follow downstairs. The family will have a private graveside service for Mom and Dad at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be brothers, Carl, Dennis, Les; daughters-in-law, Jenn, Brenda; friend Vera Servetnyk. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Zeph Weisenthal and Brenda Krulicki for the personal care they gave mom. Thank you to the staff of the Gimli Community Health Centre, and the many visitors who gave Mom comfort. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Gimli Community Health Centre. Mom, rest in Peace. We love you. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli, in care of arrangements.
