FRANCOISE SCOTT (nee PRENDERGAST) Peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at Foyer Valade, Francoise Scott, beloved wife of the late Elmer Scott, passed away at the age of 100 years. She is predeceased by her parents James Emile Pierre Prendergast (Chief Justice of the Manitoba Court of Appeal), and Olivina Mondor. Also brothers, Dr. James Prendergast, Jean, Albert and Pierre and sisters, Etiennette, Marichette, Antoinette, Cecile, Marcelle and Alice. Left to cherish her beautiful memory, her son Michael (Michel) and wife Mary Scott of Calgary and beloved granddaughter Charlotte of Montreal and her mother Margaret Cowtan of Toronto. Also nieces and nephews, Charlotte (Albert) Richards, Jacques (Shirley) Tremblay, Monique Cantafio, Denis (Alice) Tremblay, Ghislaine Perron and Jacqueline Woodley. Francoise was educated at St. Joseph's Academy in St. Boniface and St. Mary's Academy. Before marriage she worked briefly as a reporter for the Winnipeg Free Press social page and then devoted her life to her husband and family. She was an accomplished pianist and great music lover who earned the ATCM diploma and played Chopin beautifully. She will be remembered most fondly as an excellent cook, and warm and vivacious hostess who took great delight in providing her family and friends with wonderful food and sparkling company. Francoise was very proud of her involvement in l'Alliance Francaise, and as an executive member of Le Rendez-vous Francais. The family is most grateful for the compassionate care and tenderness shown to Francoise from all the staff during her time at Foyer Valade. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, March 4 at 11:00 a.m. Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. with Rev. Fr. Samuel N. Argenziano officiating. Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Francoise's memory to Foyer Valade, 450 River Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2M 5M4.
