PETER JAMEY SUSHNYK September 5, 1944 - March 1, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Jamey Sushnyk, deeply loved husband, father, son and brother. Peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, after a dignified battle with cancer, Peter, at the age of 60, passed away at Riverview Health Centre. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his mother Ruth Morrison; his wife Sylvia (Danylchuk); and his children, Amanda and James; and mother-in-law Margaret Danylchuk. Peter is also survived by his sister Linda Thompson of Thunder Bay, ON; his nephews, Paul and Michael Myros of Thunder Bay; and his niece Barb Myros of Winnipeg. Peter also leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends to mourn his loss. Peter, or as he was also known, Butch, was born and raised in Transcona. He was employed as a machinist at CN Rail for 33 years before he retired early at the age of 51. Peter also had his own company, P.J. Sushnyk Cartage. Upon retiring, Peter indulged in his favourite hobbies, fishing, making jigs and gardening. He also continued to be involved in snowmobiling, a lifelong pastime. Peter very much enjoyed spending time at his cottage in Ontario, and he spent most of his summers there with family and friends. Peter lived his life to the fullest doing what he loved the most with his time. The family wishes to extend thanks to the nursing staff at St. Boniface Hospital, the North Eastman Health Association, and the staff at Riverview Health Centre. A special thank you goes out to Dr. D. Marsh and Pastor Ron Hagglund for their weekly visits, support and friendship. Also, a very special thank you to all of the friends and relatives for visiting, phoning and going fishing with Peter in the last few months. He enjoyed being with people and talking to people. He learned from others and hoped that they learned from him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. If friends so wish, donations may be made in Peter's memory to a charity of one's choice. You will always be loved and remembered, Dad. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
