MRS. MURDINA JOHNSON (nee MacDonald) Peacefully, in her 90th year on March 2, 2005 at the Meadowood Manor. Predeceased by husband Paul Johnson in 1984; son Rod Johnson in 2003; and daughter Deanna Wright in 2004; brothers, Don and Murdo; and sisters, Mary, Annabelle and Peggie. Survived by daughter Marilyn (Thom) Murray of Winnipeg; son Don (Myra) Johnson of Ottawa; son-in-law John Wright of Buffalo; daughter-in-law Dorothy Johnson of Ottawa; grandchildren, Karen (Victor) Murray (Toronto), Rod Murray (Winnipeg), Alana Murray (Vancouver), Diane (Craig) Charrett (Saskatoon), Carolyn (Darr) LaFon (Florida), David Wright (London, England), Steve (Kris) Johnson (Ottawa), Laura (Pierre) Gagnon (Ottawa), Jen Rafaletos (Ottawa); great-grandchildren, Brent, Justin, Thomas, Cameron, Patrick, John Walter, David and Gabriel; brothers, Norm (Bubs) MacDonald and Angus MacDonald; sister Ruth (Vic) Booth; many nieces and nephews. Dena was born July 18, 1915, in Fort William (Thunder Bay) where she met her dear husband, Paul. Happily married for 47 years, they also lived in Saskatoon and moved to Winnipeg in 1951. Dena was a supportive and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She loved life and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and entertaining. Dena enjoyed travelling to Florida and many parts of Canada and USA to visit friends and relatives. She had been active in the Baptist church where she made many lifelong friends. Her quick smile and gentle manner will be deeply missed. The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff at the Meadowood Manor for their care and compassion. A funeral service will be held Monday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere. Viewing will be available one hour prior to the service. Reception to follow. Donations in Mom's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2, or the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 9Z9.
