Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY YAWORSKI It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest mom, baba and great-baba, Mary Yaworski on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at the Selkirk and District General Hospital. Mom was born in the Town of Kitsman, Bukovyna, Ukraine, on June 11, 1909. Life wasn't easy for her as her dad left in 1912 to come to Canada and as a young girl she had to work very hard to help her mother and sister. She later met her future husband and they were married on June 7, 1925. Dad came to Canada in 1929 and Mom joined him in 1932, settling in the Kirkness area where they farmed. Later on in the winter she worked at Stella Produce in Winnipeg and in the summer you would find her in her garden and flower bed from morning till night, along with all the other chores she had to do. She loved to do needlepoint and made sure that all her family had a poppy picture. She also enjoyed her Bingo nights and after you would hear her saying I just need one more number. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom her love dearly and she was very proud of all their accomplishments. She always instilled in each one of us on how important a good education is and was always interested in all her family's careers. Mom, you were always there to help and guide us. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Fred; parents, William and Sophie Pratka; and sister Anna Skrypnyk. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sons, Bill (Irene) Yaworski, Mike (Penny) Yaworski; and daughter Shirley (Harry) Kowalchuk; eight grandchildren, Garry Yaworski, Alex (Cheryl) Yaworski, Debbie (Brent) Beatie, Amanda (Kevin) Flett, Robert (Idille) Kowalchuk, Barri, Kelly Kowalchuk, Tanya (Jeff) Hucul; eight great-grandchildren, Kendra, Brooke, Tessa Beatie, Tianna Flett, Anna, Evan Kowalchuk, Macayla, Merrick Hucul. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 7 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Gonor, MB. Interment will follow in the churchyard cemetery. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Spier, Dr. Racette, all the doctors and nurses for their compassionate care for Mom. You were all wonderful and Mom cared for you dearly.
