FERENC (FRANK) A.A. LENGYEL Peacefully, surrounded by his children and grandchildren, on March 4, 2005 at the age of 83 our beloved father, Opa, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away. He was predeceased by his wife Hennie; parents, Jozsef and Iren Lengyel; two brothers and a sister in Hungary. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Klaas (Bertha), Frank (Carol), Les (of Campbell River, BC), Irene Horvath (Doug) of Langley, BC and Susan Potter (Mark); his grandchildren, Janey (Don), Gordon, Scott (Erin), Lee (Shelley), Mark, Hank, Jeannie, Glen, Aaron, Rebbekka, Alex, and Jaylene of Langley, and Laura and Ryan of Campbell River; his great-grandchildren, Connie, Shaun, Jasmine, Kenny, Matthew, Brett, Sara, Michael, Cassandra and Eva Hollo, who is as close as family. Dad loved nothing more than to be surrounded by his family. Their laughter and youthful noises brought a beaming smile to his face. Dad was born in Kalosca, Hungary June 13, 1921. His university studies in engineering were interrupted by his service in the Royal Hungarian Army during the Second World War. He met his beloved wife Hennie and together moved to England. From England, Dad blazed the trail to Canada for his family. In Canada he had a long and productive career with the Department of Highways. Dad was a faithful churchgoer and dedicated much of his spare time to church and other volunteer activities. He was a long time member of Knights of Columbus, rising to 4th Degree. Dad lived his life with a very strong dedication to his principles of which honesty and integrity were paramount. Every task that he undertook, he always did to the utmost of his abilities and everyone he touched felt his dedication. A special thanks to Dr. K. Penner and nurses, Debbie and Thu Tham, from the Victoria Hospital, for their care and compassion. Dad we take great comfort in knowing that you and mom are together again, love you always. Funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, March 8 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Brebeuf Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Pl., with viewing one half hour prior. Rev. Msgr. Ward Jamieson will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6, or to your favourite charity.
