LENA TREMBLAY (TURKEWICH)

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLENA TREMBLAY (nee TURKEWICH) Peacefully on March 4, 2005, Lena passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 86 years. Lena is survived by loving daughters, Annette (Gord) MacDonald and Kathy Tremblay; son Ken (Donna) Tremblay; seven grandchildren, Joe, Tracy, Chuck, Andy, James, Scott and Danielle; three great-grandchildren, Hailey, Allie and Quinton; and son-in-law George E. Littlefield III. She was predeceased by her daughter Jeanette Littlefield; grandson George E. Littlefield IV; her parents and brother Mike. Lena was born in Winnipeg, living and raising her children in North Winnipeg. She worked at Eaton's Downtown and Zellers, and later became at teacher. She attended university while in her 50s and obtained her degree in Child Development. Lena was an avid reader, and also enjoyed travelling, camping and fishing with family and friends. Her main love was children, and three generations of them were always welcome in her home. In her retirement years she wintered in Florida with her daughter Jeanette's family, enjoying many trips to Disney World, ever the child herself! In her final years, Lena lived in Richmond Gardens Senior Complex, and enjoyed making many new friends there. We thank all you for making her so welcome. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Victoria Hospital, especially Charlotte and Lisa, also to Mike, Huegette, Jennifer and Denise at St. Boniface Hospital. Also thanks to the staff of the Pastoral Care of St. Boniface Hospital. Celebration of Lena's Life will be held on Wednesday, March 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lena's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Miss you everyday Mom. You had all the love in the world & you shared it with everyone in your life. Andy gave me the greatest gift, a beautiful granddaughter Caitlyn Dawn Dunning, you would have adored her.
