Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNEST CHARLES THOMAS MOWAT JR. (ERN) It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Ernie (Ern) Mowat Jr. on Sunday, March 6, 2005 at the age of 27 years. Ern will be lovingly remembered by his common-law wife of eight years Michelle, four year old son Nicholas, six month old daughter Hannah, father Ernest Sr., mother Martha (Archie), grandpa Tom, sister Lisa, brother Andy (Tamara), mother-in-law Debbie, father-in-law Don (Pat), sisters-in-law, Mona and Amber; brother-in-law Derek; companions, Zoe and Buck; as well as his niece, many nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. He was predeceased by his grannie Nora, grannie Grace, Papa Charlie, Uncle Bun, and cousins, Sheldon Sr. and Kevin. Ernie made his life as a commercial fisherman since the early age of 15. Fishing was not only his job it was his passion, he could often be found helping anyone in need. His love for the outdoors developed at a young age. The time that he spent with his dad and grandpa hunting, fishing and trapping was special to him and he was proud to be able to share his experience and knowledge with his own son Nicholas. Ernie couldn't get very far without Nick wanting to help him out. Ern loved spending time playing crib and going angling/ice fishing up Bloodvein River with his buddies. He would always have a story to tell when he came home, like the time he caught a sturgeon but it got away. It's all in the wrist as Ernie would say. His family was his pride and joy and he was very proud to be the father of the first girl born into the family in over 20 years, Hannah always had a big smile for her daddy when he walked in the room. He will be forever missed by his family and friends and his memory will always live on. Honorary Pallbearers are Harry Cook Jr., David Carriere, Tim Roehl, Nelson Flett, Sean Flett and Joey Kirkness. Cremation will take place and a funeral service will be held at the Matheson Island Community Hall on Thursday, March 10 at 2:00 p.m. Pastors Neill and Edith Von Gunton officiating. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the trust fund that has been set up for Ernie's two children, Nicholas and Hannah Ladouceur at the Riverton Credit Union, Box 428, Riverton MB, R0C 2R0.
