Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN HOLUBOWICH (nee BOYCHUK) June 2, 1924 - March 3, 2005 It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Jean, wife, mother and Baba, at the Health Sciences Centre on March 3, 2005 at the age of 80 years. Mom will be sadly missed by her husband Louis and lovingly remembered and cherished by her six children, Martha (Brian), Margaret (Ken), Alvin (Patricia), Dennis, Violet and David (Diana); and six grandchildren, Jason, Andrew, Eric, Layne, Brandon and Kyle. She still has many relatives in the Ukraine. She was predeceased by her mother in 1991 who lived to the age of 106. Jean was born in Ozeriany, Ukraine and in 1948 she came to Canada. She met and married Louis in 1953. Jean worked at Swift's until 1959. As a homemaker, Mom took great pride and joy spending time with her family as it grew over the years. She kept up the traditions of Ukrainian Christmas and Easter, with her cooking, music and family gatherings. She very much enjoyed their farm in West St. Paul with her huge garden and was so generous with the harvest; she always grew more than enough to give away. Her road trips to Edmonton, Myrnam and Minneapolis to visit friends and relatives brought her much happiness. Mom was hardworking, generous and loving and devoted to her family. Jean will always be remembered by her warm friendly smile. Mom always put everyone else first, and she was always there to help in any way that she could. The family would like to thank all the special friends who were there for her. Many thanks to the caring staff on GH4 at the Health Sciences Centre. Prayers will be said on Friday, March 11 at 6:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, March 12 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rev. Mikhail Kouts as celebrant. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Jason Gaune, Andrew Milinkovic, Eric Milinkovic, Layne Holubowich, Brandon Holubowich, and friends Zenon Harasemiw and Terry Boyko. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean's memory to Canadian Diabetes Association. FOREVER IN OUR MEMORY VICHNAYA PAMYAT CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

I remember her smile lighting up her face; her garden and many a bowl of borscht over the years. A hard worker, she cared for and loved to help people; devout with a deep inner strength that served her well. A strong woman with deep love for family and the love they have for her shows in the immense sorrow they feel, this love a bond that will never be broken. We see so many of her traits in her children - a wonderful legacy. No longer watching from the window, now watching from above always. Remember her wonderful smile. - Posted by: Deb (Friend) on: Mar 15, 2005
