Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE KOPP January 6, 1913 - March 6, 2005 Peacefully in her 92nd year, on Sunday, March 6, 2005, Elsie Kopp (nee Ruchotski) passed away at the Lakeshore Health Centre with her daughters and sister by her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Carol Surgenor (Marlind Erlendson); grandson Darren (Christine) Surgenor; great-grandsons, Jake and Damon; granddaughter Dawn (Kim) Hepp; great-granddaughter Reanna; daughter Wendy (Ross) Hierlmeier; granddaughter Jodie (Jeremiah); grandson Chris (Denise); sister Emma Geisler; sisters-in-law, Emma Ruchotski, Irene Kopp; brother-in-law George (Irma) Kopp; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Paul; parents, Alex and Sophia; sister Alvina Hubert; brothers, Ralph, Bill, Steve, Henry, Wilbert; a sister and brother in infancy; and son-in-law Wayne Surgenor. Elsie was born in Plum Coulee, MB. Mom married Dad in 1942 with whom she shared 38 years. They spent their early years in Ashern where Dad was in partnership in a garage business. They then moved to New Home where they farmed until they purchased the Ashern Snack Bar, where they spent 14 years. After they sold the Snack Bar, Mom worked in various restaurants until her retirement. She spent her latter years in the First Choice Manor and a lot of time at both our homes. Friends and relatives may pay their respects between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11 at the Arnason Funeral Home in Ashern. A celebration of Mom's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12 at the Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Nancy Walker officiating. Interment to follow in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darren Surgenor, Chris Hierlmeier, Bill Geisler, Gus Lennstrom, Alvin Kopp and Marvin Kopp. Everyone in attendance are considered Honorary Pallbearers. The family would like to thank the staff for the excellent care and support they gave to Mom and the family during her stay at the hospital. Thank you to Pastor Nancy Walker, Pastor Bill Watson, Glen and John of Arnason Funeral Home, our family and friends for the love, comfort and support during Mom's illness, your kindness did not go unnoticed.
