Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILMA DOREEN HAMILTON (HER LIGHT LINGERS ON) Quietly and peacefully, on Monday, March 7, 2005, Wilma Doreen Hamilton (nee Everett) passed into the ages. In life she was a paragon of vitality and virtue. She faced her illness with the same grace, dignity and stoicism with which she lived and remains an inspiration to us all. Born November 16, 1931 in Reston, MB, Mom remained a daughter of the Prairie all her life. Her life values and work ethic were completely grounded in her formative years, particularly the influence of her beloved father who guided her way with a steady hand. She never forgot her roots, ever, and everyone who knew her was touched by her purity of spirit and unwavering convictions. In thinking of Wilma, we all recall her passion for life, her boundless generosity and intense loyalty that touched neighbour, friend, family and stranger alike. Among family she was a rock. In friendship a lifelong companion. In business a model of integrity. She will be dearly missed by all her family and her many friends, always. Wilma is survived by four children, Jim and John of Winnipeg, Neil of San Francisco and Joan of Toronto; as well as two grandchildren, Maxine and Sonia. She is also survived by her brothers, Earl and Ron; and her sisters, Marion, Phyllis and Lynn. She was previously deceased by her parents, James and Lydia Everett; a brother Glen; and most recently by her beloved husband Jack. May God in his infinite and benign wisdom watch over her and Jack. We smile and remember Wilma, assured that a new star burns brightly in the heavens now and forever. Funeral service will take place at 12 noon on Saturday, March 12 at St. Andrew's River Heights United Church, 255 Oak St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
