Joyce was born on September 10, 1920 at Cloverleaf, MB; daughter of Herbert and Annie Stanbra. After completing her education in Balmoral, Joyce worked for several families in the area. She then moved to Winnipeg, working first in a cookie factory and then as a hairdresser. On November 10, 1945 Joyce married Earle Williams and purchased the family farm north of Balmoral where they raised their four children. A busy Mom and wife, Joyce contributed much to the community by coaching baseball, teaching Sunday School, baking and catering. She was proudly recognized as one of the founding and lifetime members of the Balmoral Hunter Hospital Auxiliary. Always ready for fun, Joyce looked forward to playing cards, dancing, bingo, bowling and all the activities of her children and grandchildren. Joyce valued farm life and especially loved the animals, flowers and birds. She remained on the family farm with support from her family until her death. Joyce was predeceased by her husband Earle in October, 1984 and son-in-law Don Skibo (1995); sisters, Dorothy, Orla Racher; brothers, Stan, Norman, Harold and Neil, as well as many special in-laws and friends.
