LUCIEN HERMENEGILDE BYETTE Suddenly on March 5, 2005 with his family by his side, Lucien Hermenegilde Byette, father and grandfather passed away. Dad was born on January 20, 1930 in Montreal, QC to Armand and Jeanne Byette. Dad was predeceased by his parents and one sister. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his two children and their families. Robert (Pat) Byette, of Golden, BC and Margaret (Bill) Rice of Gimli, MB and his four grandchildren, Ben in Moosejaw, Matthew in Gimli, Jason in Kamloops and Jack in Kamloops. Dad also leaves to mourn his extended family and joins their mother and grandmother Lempi Lilija Poulton. He will be sadly missed by William Poulton, Michelle Herboth, Jesse Vialoux, Jason Vialoux and other members of the family. Lucien came to Winnipeg in 1951 from Montreal. He spent all his life making people laugh, and when you met Dad you felt that you had known him all your life. Lucien worked in the Hospitality Industry, he worked for CN Rail as a Maitre De, Hy's, Ray and Jerry's, Dubrovnik's, Ko-Ko's and the Hotel Fort Garry. At Lucien's request cremation has already taken place and a family burial will take place at a later date. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Boniface Hospital for the care given to Lucien. We will forever be grateful, and to John and Peggy Hiebert, thank you for all the love and support during this trying time. Dad will also be missed by his friends and patrons at the Pony Corral and Tony Roma's. Miss you Dad. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made in Dad's memory to a charity of one's choice. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 783-7211

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I cherish the time I worked with Grampa Louie at the Dubrovnik. I also had the pleasure of living next door on Kennedy St. and spending many football games with nana Lyl and having a few room temp. standards with Grampa. Also thank-you to both for inviting me for Christmas and making me part of the family. Will never be forgotten! Love always, THE KID - Posted by: John Nickerson (friend) on: May 11, 2022

  • I have many fond memories of passing afternoons at Tony Romas, chatting with Louis. The staff will never forget him. - Posted by: Rebecca (Friend) on: Mar 16, 2005
