Date of Passing: Mar 10, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILDRED DOCKER (nee AFFLECK) passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre, March 10, 2005. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dudley. Mildred will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Nancy (Fred), Susan; her son Rod; grandchildren Greg (Amy) and Wendy (Kenneth), great-grandchildren Brandon, Tori and Tom; her special friends Lorraine and Larry Moore and the Lloyd Atkinson family. We will fondly remember our mother for her great love and friendship with each of us. She was gifted in the way she kept in contact with all of us by her special, humourous cards, letters and postcards. Mom was always first to remember someone's birthday, anniversary or just a thinking of you card. Who didn't enjoy receiving mail from Mildred? Words cannot begin to express our feelings for our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was truly a lady. Golf and bridge were her recreational passions. Her love of golf began with her father when she was six years old and continued throughout her life. What fun she had always playing down the middle with her Alloy friends at Niakwa Country Club where she was a Member Emeritus. Mom also enjoyed a good game of bridge with all her many card playing friends. What stories they would tell and what trouble they would get into. Mother always said Learn to play golf and bridge, as someone is always looking for a fourth . Mom loved people and they loved her in return. Mildred and Dudley were always blessed with wonderful neighbours and friends. Mom enjoyed the love and friendship of PEO as do her daughter, Nancy and granddaughter, Wendy. She was a member of Chapter H., Manitoba. She volunteered for the McKinnon Guild at the Nearly New Shop and delivered for Meals on Wheels for many years. Mother spent the last seven years at Rosewood where she met some very special people and renewed old acquaintances. They welcomed her with open arms and she was happy. Many, many thanks to all the staff who loved mother and took such good care of her. The family would also like to thank the staff of Riverview Health Centre for their loving care and concern. According to Mom's wishes a private family service has been held. Friends and family are invited to gather for a celebration of her life on Tuesday, March 15 from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Niakwa Country Club, 620 Niakwa Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to charities of your choice.
