JOHN DARWYN BRUCE (May 16, 1935 - March 11, 2005) On Friday, March 11, 2005, Darwyn, formerly of Murillo, Ontario, passed away with his family at his side after a lengthy illness. Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife Jacqueline (MacMillan); daughter Joanne (George) Palaniuk of Winnipeg; son Kerry of Thunder Bay; son Robert (Helen) of Victoria, B.C.; grandfather and friend to grandsons, Adam, Ryan and Colin and granddaughter Nicole; his mother Ula Bruce; brother Erwyn (Violet) of Thunder Bay as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father William in 1992. Darwyn was a sales representative and food broker for many years in Thunder Bay before retiring to Winnipeg to be closer to family. He was a loving husband and father who loved woodworking, prospecting and gardening. Darwyn was a very generous person, always willing to help family, friends and his church. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 4588 Roblin Blvd with Rev. Fr. Barry Schoonbaert presiding. Interment will take place at a later date in Thunder Bay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Darwyn's memory to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. R3E OV9.
