WILLIAM (BILL) KATHLER

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) KATHLER Peacefully, and surrounded by his family, our dear husband, father, and grandpa passed away at Riverview Centre on March 11, 2005. He is survived by his loving wife Beth of 48 years; four children, Doug (Elsie), Kel (Wendy), Trish (Paul), Allyson (Jerry) and grandchildren, Tom (Cathy), Chris, Adam, Nick, Josh, and Matt. Bill is also survived by his sister Tina; brothers, Peter (Ellie), Fred (Susie), Walter (Kathy), Rudy (Kay), John (Eleanor), Art (Margaret); sisters-in-law, Anne, Tina, Iola; brother-in-law Cornie (Thelma); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Anna (in infancy), Mary and his brother Elvin. Bill was born near Arnaud, MB on August 25, 1925, son of Wilhelm and Amalia Kathler. He moved to Winnipeg in 1953 where his gift for mechanical repair led to employment at Dickson Motors, Towne Pontiac, and Esso Service Centre. He married Beth Penner in 1957 and they were blessed with their four children. After retirement, Bill enjoyed many years keeping friends and relatives lawnmowers in tip top shape. Bill was also interested in history, current events, gardening and his backyard wildlife. He was a faithful member of First Mennonite Church where he served as an usher and had also served on the board of Sunset House. A devotional service and viewing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16 at First Mennonite Church. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 17 at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Ave. Special thanks to the staff at Concordia Hospital and Riverview Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Mennonite Central Committee or Riverview Centre would be greatly appreciated. Rest in peace, Dear..... Arrangements by Friends of the Family 222-8080
