MARY KUPCHIK (nee HOMENISKI) Peacefully, following an illness, on March 11, 2005, Mary Kupchik, aged 88 years, of Selkirk, joined her beloved husband Peter in the House of the Lord. Left to mourn and cherish her memory are sons, Leon (Verna), Lawrence and Darwin (Rachelle) Kupchik of Selkirk; and daughter Evelyn Leclerc of Winnipeg; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 2000; parents Fred and Annie; brother Bill; and grandson Sheldon. Mary was born in Emerson, MB, on September 13, 1916, and later moved to the Lockport area where she met and married Peter in 1939. They raised their family there until 1960 when they moved to Selkirk where she resided until the time of her passing. She was a meek and humble person who treated all she met with quiet kindness. She often reflected upon the times of raising her children and grandchildren with proud, happy memories. Her gentle tenderness will be missed by all of them. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 16 at Knox Presbyterian Church, 341 Eveline St., Selkirk, at 2:00 p.m. Viewing to be held at 1:30 p.m. Rev Matthew Brough officiating.
