ROLAND PICARD It is with a great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Dad, Granddad and Great-Granddad, Roland Picard (Rolly), on Saturday, March 12, 2005, at the age of 87. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Marie (Morier); his wife Marj (Coakes) in 1993; sisters, Teresa, Rita, Florence and Rose; brothers, Frederick, Laurence, Leo and Gerald; his son-in law David Confrey and special friend Lucille Bibeau. Dad will be missed by his three daughters, Diane (Ron) Kryschuk, Pat Confrey and Deb (Harry) Isfeld; his seven grandchildren, Karen Shearing, Lori (Michael) Cadrin, Cory Confrey, Jason and Keith Kozak, Tammy (Jason) Petrone, Kristinn Isfeld; his five great-grandchildren, Griffin, Kynan, Anna-Belle, Arturo and Katherine; his brother Ted (Louella); his sisters, Jan Bedard and Aileen (Howie) Robinson and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. After serving overseas in the Second World War, Dad returned to Winnipeg where he met and married Mom in 1947. Dad began, what would be his career, with Breen Motors retiring as a car salesman with Pembina Dodge in 1983. He was a dedicated Dodge/Chrysler Man. Dad was quite a character with a good sense of humour. He loved to play cards up until his illness prevented him from doing so. He looked forward to his Thursday nights when he would go out for supper followed by card games with Jan, Aileen and Howie. We extend our thanks to the staff at Villa Cabrini and St. Boniface Hospital 6ECU. Special thanks to the staff, residents and volunteers at Tache Centre for the care and compassion Dad received during his time there. A funeral mass will be held at Christ the King Church, 847 St. Mary's Rd., on March 16 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 220 Hespeler Ave @ Henderson Hwy. 668-3151
