CAMPBELL BARR November 3, 1918 - March 13, 2005 Peacefully, on March 13, 2005 at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Campbell passed away at the age of 86. Campbell was predeceased by his wife Eva Barr; daughter Jacqueline Tarte; brothers, Ernie (Vera) and Bruce. Cam will be lovingly remembered by his son Wayne; daughter-in-law Kathy; granddaughters, Michelle (Dwayne) Hopko, Kristine (Krista), Susie (Phil) Speiss, Cari (Tony); and great-grandchildren, Kirk, Scotty, Morgan; and many friends. Campbell was born in Elmwood. He went overseas during the Second World War where he met his wife Eva. They made their home in Winnipeg. Cam worked for many years as a veteran's affairs officer. He was active in Legion No. 81 and the Manitoba New Democratic Party for many years. Cam loved fishing, hunting, golfing, travelling, curling and attending Blue Bomber games. He truly enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters. Cam was a true and dignified gentleman. He had a big heart and was a friend to everyone. We will miss his greeting of hello Love! . The family would like to thank the staff at the Maples Personal care home for their care. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Reception will be held at the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre and interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Campbell's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
