PEARL ANTYMIS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pearl Antymis, our Mother, Baba and Great Baba, on Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at her home in Beausejour. Pearl was born in Thalberg, MB, on September 11, 1920, one of 14 children. She married Steve Antymis in 1940 and together they had five children, Gerald, Sharyn, Eugene, Therese and Neil. Pearl was a living example of her deep faith and was a great inspiration to family and friends. She knew the power of prayer and always encouraged her family to put their trust in God. She was devoted to her church and lovingly gave her time to it in many ways. Pearl loved to sing and was a cantor for 44 years. She sang for church services, weddings and funerals in 24 different parishes during that time. Her love of song led her to compose many songs and poems which she loved to share with others. Pearl will be lovingly remembered by her children, 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; her sister Geraldine; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Steve; daughter Sharyn; parents Tekla and Cornelius Bendera; eight sisters and four brothers. Prayers will be held on Thursday, March 17 (tonight) at 8:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, 823 Park Ave., at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18 with Rev. Fr. Ihor Bloshchynskyy and Rev. Fr. Taras Kowch officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pearl's memory may be made to the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, Box 114 Beausejour, MB, R0E 0C0.
