WILLIAM JOHN LAWRENCE GAMBLE December 18, 1969 - March 15, 2005 It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of William John Lawrence Gamble of Winnipeg, dearly beloved husband of Lisa, adoring father of Katherine and William, and loving son of Bill and Corinne of Selkirk. Bill died peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 surrounded by family and friends. Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife Lisa (nee Kendrick); children, Katherine (Kate) and William (Will); parents, Bill and Corinne of Selkirk; sister Tracey of Winnipeg; brother Bryan of Selkirk; grandmother Pearl Brough of Flin Flon; aunt Rita Overland of Langley, BC; aunt and Godmother Bev Harris (Allan) of Winnipeg; uncles Bob Brough (Debbie) of Flin Flon, Melvin Brough (Donnalee) of St. Albert, AB, Ken Brough (Janice) of Flin Flon; auntie Barbara Irvine of Portage la Prairie, and cousins, Glenn, Nancy, Lynda, and Richard Overland, Tasha, Tanner, Brent, Devin, Jocelyn, Adam, David, Scott, and Shawn Brough, Marina Grabowski, Valerie Poskus, Richard Irvine; and many more relatives and friends. He was predeceased by grandparents, William and Florence Gamble and Lawrence Brough. Bill was born in Winnipeg, moving to Selkirk at an early age. He attended Robert Smith elementary school, Selkirk Junior High and the Comp in Selkirk. Upon graduating Bill began university and after three years decided to work. He was employed at The Yellow Submarine, Home Hardware in Selkirk and Beausejour, Dominion Lumber and Jones Goodridge Inc. In 1990 Bill met his true love Lisa and married her in 1996. They lived one year in Connecticut where Bill immersed himself in American history, baseball, football, and hockey. His favourite team was the New England Patriots. Returning to Winnipeg he returned to Jones Goodridge Inc. In 2000 his precious daughter Kate was born and Bill returned to university. In 2002 his boy Will was born. Bill was an outstanding Dad and his family meant everything to him. Bill's studies at university Business Computing were nearing completion with graduation anticipated in the Spring. Bill loved building cedar strip canoes first by himself and then involving his friends. He enjoyed canoeing, fishing, sports and collecting antiquities. Bill enjoyed sharing stories with and about numerous friends. A celebration of Bill's life will take place at Harrow United Church, 955 Mulvey Ave. in Winnipeg on Saturday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Teresa Moysey officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Hamm, Pete Kuzminski, Troy Grobb, and Jef Burnard. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been set up at the CIBC Branches for Bill's children Katherine and William. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedics Service, Dr. Dan Roberts MICU, HSC and all the nurses and staff for the excellent care Bill was given and the help and support they gave to Lisa and Bill and Corrine and family.
