Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAUGUST (GUS) ZIMMERMAN June 28, 1922 - March 12, 2005 After a lengthy illness, Gus passed away peacefully with his immediate family at his side. He is in the hands of our Lord and hopefully, walking in a green field of daisies with his sister Margaret, who also passed a few weeks prior. Gus was many men in his life. He was a Veteran for our country during the Second World War. He was a trapper, a fire fighter, forestry worker, and the best potato grower that we have ever known. He was a man of many stories that you never heard twice. He was gentle and kind. He was a lover of nature, an avid reader, a giant of a man. Gus will be sorely missed by his soul mate Inge Bauer; by his son and daughter at heart, Gary Mikolaychuk and Ingrid Bauer and by his brothers; sisters; families; neighbours and friends, and Woody. Cremation has taken place. As Gus requested no service will be held. The family would like to thank all staff of the SICU and MICU of the St. Boniface Hospital whose care and compassion were incredible. Gus, until we meet again, we love you.
