HENRY ARTHUR NICOL
Date of Passing: Mar 17, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHENRY ARTHUR NICOL 1950 - 2005 On March 17, 2005, Henry returned to his Father's home where pain cannot touch him again. He leaves behind to forever cherish his memory, his wife of almost 31 years, Theresa, his most beloved children, Jennifer and Scott. He also leaves behind to mourn him his brothers, Doug (Diane), Phillip, William (Melanie); and his sister Rosemary (Dave); his nieces, Danielle, Jessie and Robin; his nephews, David, Christopher, Brandon, William Jr. and Joey. For eight years he worked for Chrysler in Windsor, ON. Upon moving to Winnipeg, 25 years ago, he worked as a sewing machine mechanic before moving on to New Flyer Industries. For the last ten years he has been an active member of St. Andrew's parish in various capacities. However, his greatest joy came from the children of the Sunday school. His family would like to thank his home care nurse Chris who made his final days easier; Dr. A. Schroeder who went above and beyond, to the nurses at Grace Oncology who treated him with such tenderness; to Dr. Pat Harris who made his final hours peaceful, and to our St. Andrew's family who walked with him through this final journey. A celebration of his life will be held at St. Andrew's Woodhaven, 2700 Portage Ave., on Tuesday, March 22, at 11:00 a.m., with luncheon to follow. Henry requested that those attending his service wear their brightest and happiest colours. Cremation has taken place and he will be interred in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0R1 for the Henry Nicol memorial fund. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200

It is with great sadness that I learned of Henry's passing, while scouring the internet trying to locate dear friends from high school. Henry was my lab partner (and dear friend) in high school, from Grade 11 physics, Grade 12 Chemistry, and Grade 11 Physics and Chemistry. We were an inseparable team and absolutely deadly in the accuracy and speed of our experiments. In the process Henry and I became close friends. We reconnected briefly after his marriage when he lived closed to my parents home, by which time I'd relocated to Toronto. They say you only have a few close friends through life. Henry was one of those friends where time did not matter - we'd pickup where we left off no matter how long it had been since we last talked. Sorry we didn't spend more time together, buddy. - Posted by: Joe Caruso (Friend) on: Feb 24, 2017
